Broletto Palace in Pavia is a twelfth century building located in Piazza della Vittoria.
The Broletto building was the historic seat of municipal meetings (from the eleventh to the sixteenth century), gradually expanded to meet the growing needs of the municipal institution.
According to the typical solution of public buildings, each body of the building has a portico on the ground floor and a large room on the upper floor, intended for meetings.
The southern wing - overlooking Piazza Cavagneria (from the name of the baskets in which the market goods were contained) - has recently been restored and is home to various cultural institutions in the city and a space for contemporary arts.
The northern part, which overlooks the Piazza Grande, is characterized by the sixteenth-century loggia which gives direct access to the “frescoes” hall.
Now it is a Cultural Center that contains the "Rossana Bossaglia" Image Design Space, this is the name of the new exhibition project of the Culture Sector of the Municipality of Pavia located inside the Broletto building and designed by the architect Renzo Plano with a flexible setting for offer the public a rationally targeted path.
