Cà Pesaro Palace - International Gallery of Modern Art Ca Pesaro


The Palazzo di Cà Pesaro is a Civic Museum of Venice located in the Santa Croce district.

It overlooks the Grand Canal between Palazzo Coccina Giunti Foscarini Giovannelli and Palazzo Correggio, not far from Ca Corner della Regina and the Church of San Stae.

On the first and second floor there is the International Gallery of Modern Art which, among the canvases and drawings, stands out Judith II by Klimt; Bonnard's Nude in the Mirror; the Rabbi of Chagall and the works of Kandinsky, Klee, Rouault, Matisse, Grosz, Moore, Morandi, De Chirico, Boccioni, Sironi, Gustavo Boldrini, Shozo Shimamoto and others.

It should be noted that in 2004, among the PERSONALS AND PERFORMANCE, the 1st Helicopter Performance was held in Ronchi Dei Legionari (Udine) organized by our Association bb.cc. Onlus of Venice simultaneously with the exhibition "Shozo Shimamoto: dal Gutai a Proxima 1955-2004" and Performance "Nyotaku", International Gallery of Contemporary Art, Ca 'Pesaro, Venice with the organization also of the COLLECTIVE "Traces: body and idea in contemporary art ", National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto; National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.

Among the sculptures there is a vast collection of works by Wildt, Martini and Medardo Rosso. Having made the stairs leading to the entrance to the Gallery, it was composed of one of the copies of Rodin's The Thinker.

The artists present in the collection are: Emilio Vedova, Felice Carena, Virgilio Guidi, Davide Orler.

Visiting the International Gallery of Modern Art also leads to the Oriental Art Museum of Venice, still in the same building on the 3rd floor.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia and the Google Cultural Institute, the International Gallery of Modern Art of Ca 'Pesaro is on Google Arts & Culture: an online platform through which the public from all over the world can access images high resolution works of art part of the collections of partner museums of the initiative, with the aim of democratizing access to culture and promoting its conservation for future generations.

For the International Gallery of Modern Art of Ca 'Pesaro, 50 high-resolution images of some of the most representative works of the collection and of the museum itinerary have been uploaded.

Among these, Marc Chagall's The Rabbi of Vitebsk, the splendid Judith II by Gustav Klimt, the large canvas by Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida Sewing the canvas, The thinker by Auguste Rodin and the very famous Zig Zag by Wassily Kandinsky. The Italians should also be remembered: Felice Casorati with Le signorine and the fundamental works of Medardo Rosso, from Madame X to Ecce Puer.
