The Royal Palace of Quisisana is a historic residence located in the hilly area of Castellammare di Stabia, in the hamlet of Quisisana di Napoli, from which it also takes its name.
Dating back to the period prior to 1200, it has had various functions over the years, from a royal palace to a college up to being transformed into a hotel; after a period of total abandonment that reduced it to a ruin, in 2009 the restoration works were completed that allowed to bring it back to its ancient splendor.
The origins of the palace of Quisisana are uncertain: certainly the construction dates back to before 1280 both from what appears from some documents written by Charles I of Anjou and from what is testified by Giovanni Boccacci's Decameron, which in the sixth story of the tenth day it said.
