Giusti Palace

The Giusti Palace and Garden are located in the homonymous street of Verona, near the center and a few tens of meters from Piazza Isolo.

The palace was built in the 16th century with a classic U-shaped system, together with the garden, considered one of the most beautiful examples of an Italian garden.

The garden has been modified several times during its long life, and has been particularly cared for after the Second World War (many plants had been practically nipped).

The Philharmonic Academy was there for a long time and then built the Philharmonic Theater.

The garden, created at the end of the 1300s, appears today in the structure given to it in 1570 by Agostino Giusti, Knight of the Venetian Republic and Gentleman of the Grand Duke of Tuscany.

The oldest part of the garden has been geometrically set, near the water sources, and is closed by a row of cypresses, among which there is the Goethe cypress, over six hundred years old and admired by Wolfang Goethe in 1786 and quoted in "Journey to Italy" of 1817.

In the garden there is also a cave surmounted by a mask. Goethe cypress.

The garden can be divided into various areas, the most important of which are the western and eastern areas.
