Fohlenhof Ebbs stable - Haflinger Breeders Association of Tyrol

The Fohlenhof in Ebbs focuses its activity on purebred Haflinger horses from Tyrol: it is the most famous Haflinger stud farm in Austria and is known throughout the world for its excellent purebred Haflinger breeding from Tyrol.

About 130 horses are in the stables, and even in bad weather the Fohlenhof Ebbs is an ideal destination because most of the attractions can be seen indoors.

Haflinger Breeders Association of Tyrol, thanks to an intelligent breeding policy and well-targeted marketing measures, has contributed to the worldwide spread of the breed.

The "Haflinger" has become a Tyrolean cultural asset and an ambassador of the region. Haflinger horses from Tyrol are found today on all continents.

The breeding area of ??the association is located in Tyrol, Voralberg and Salzburg. More than 1,000 breeders are currently assisted by Ebbs. The events of the association's breeders are a great public appeal and therefore an important economic factor for the whole region.

• In the stables of the Fohlenhof stable there are about 130 horses from October to May, in the summer months, when the young horses are grazing, it is possible to observe the mares with their foals and stallions.
• Among these are the most famous Haflingers in the world with all the reigning winners at world and European level of the last 15 years. Even in bad weather the Fohlenhof Ebbs is an ideal tourist destination as most of the attractions are indoors.
• The museum has a fine collection of old carriages and sleighs as well as old work tools from the peasant culture, eg. transport saddles, plows, harrows, wooden bars and sleds for use with horses.
• The Friday night show in the Fohlenhof Ebbs represents for Tyrol what the performances of the Spanish Riding School represent for Vienna.
• On the last Saturday of September, the largest auction in the world of Haflinger fillies takes place in Ebbs. About 250 foals are sold at auction and find new owners from many countries, an event not to be missed for any lover of Haflingers!
