Cellar Ancient ones Jerzu farms

The Social Cellar from Jerzu was founded in 1950 and from the work carried out with Cannonau grapes in the best farms of Jerzu, the homonymous wine of the same name, full-bodied and rich in color, was obtained.

Since those times, the Cellar Ancient ones Jerzu farms (Antichi Poderi Jerzu) have represented the exceptional point of arrival of this long process that started in 1950 and was very rich in the intuitions of the pioneers of Ogliastra agricultural entrepreneurship.

But in reality it all started centuries earlier because the first documents on the art of wine production in this area date back to the 12th century.

The winery is located in Jerzu, in Ogliastra, a village located 500 meters above sea level and the territory is characterized by green hills, centuries-old woods, valleys and mountains that offer a luxuriant Mediterranean nature, white stretches of fine sand and coves immersed in the unspoiled nature.

The winery is equipped with winemaking systems that allow long fermentation periods and has facilities for aging oak barrels for more than 1.5 million liters.

It has a splendid wine tower that has been transformed into a tasting room, where you can taste the products of one of the Sardinian companies of reference for Cannonau.

Today, Antichi poderi Jerzu presents itself with a range of products and a renewed image, in line with the tastes of the moment, but it has done so without distorting its identity in any way.
