The Nicolis Museum is a private Italian museum that brings together numerous collections of vintage cars and motorcycles, bicycles, musical instruments, small aircraft, cameras and writing machines and unpublished objects of human ingenuity.
Luciano Nicolis, born in Verona, created it in 2000, inaugurating "his museum" which immediately opened to the public. In the "Museum of the Auto, Technology and Mechanics" he brought together the unobtainable and precious objects that his interest in mechanics led him to look for all over the world: cars, motorcycles, bicycles but also musical instruments, cameras and writing machines, works of human ingenuity.
The Museum has been his "lifelong dream", ever since, as a young boy, he collected paper to be recycled by cycling around the villages near home.
It is a passion that he has also transferred to the family that has always supported and supported him.
Among the most important and curious pieces of the collections, "Motrice Pia", the first internal combustion engine running on petrol that sparked the competition between the Veronese Enrico Bernardi and the German Karl Benz, the Isotta Fraschini celebrated in the film Viale del Tramonto and loved by Gabriele D'Annunzio, the Lancia Astura Mille Miglia, unique in the world and built specifically for Luigi Villoresi, the 1931 Bugatti, the 1955 Ford Thunderbird, undisputed icon of the American youth of the 1950s, or the 1939 Delahaye 135M that the director Marco Tullio Giordana included “Sanguepazzo” in the film.
As for the two-wheeled motorized collection, the Bianchi Tonale 175 cc from 1957, covered with a spectacular fairing, or the Norton Manx 500 Corsa from 1962, one of the symbols in the history of motorcycling or, to get to more recent eras, the 1996 Yamaha YZF 500.
